Charmed by a Snake

Charmed by a Snake

Charmed by a Snake

I can’t take it anymore
My feelings are tore
She just beats me down
Criticizes and hurts me to the core
Then a beautiful snake appears on the floor
As the tears stream, from my eyes, they pour
He appears in the corner by the door
With his smug smile and pointed horns
His darkness has me feeling better
I laugh and he wipes my tears away
He takes me with him as if I said it was okay
I arrive at a new place, there’s water, it smells like a bay
All I can think is why today?
He kisses my hand and I pull away
Saying, “No you can’t!”
I knew what was implied
And in my mind
That shit wasn’t going to fly
We walk, we talk
It’s been a while
So I slightly miss him and I begin to smile
He asks me, “Now how do you feel?”
I look into his eyes, I’m suspicious
He says, “Let’s make a deal”
The snake disappears from my sight
I say, “Alright”
And that’s all for tonight.
