Zultan

Zultan was born during war time. His mother abandoned him and he was saved by a woman of the country’s council. She brought him to an adoption agency, where his guardians were drunks. The children who lived there with him suffered from malnutrition and didn’t even have proper clothing. They were treated as if they didn’t exist.

Zultan grew up ashamed but he knew this wasn’t his real family. He would still take care of the younger children by begging for money on the streets to buy food and clothing. He even worked small jobs around the neighborhood like shoveling snow, raking leaves, and mowing lawns. He always had something to do, no matter the season. He provided for the family. His drunken guardians tried to steal from him several times so Zultan started hiding his money in a vegetable box in the freezer.

Eventually, he saved up enough to move. He travelled from Russia to China to India and over the mediterranean sea to Turkey, where he lived for a few months. Things weren’t going well and he moved to England. He found an apartment, bought a pickup truck and was able to settle there and start school in the fall.
