5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership

Model the Way
Leaders establish morals and ideals concerning how people should be treated and how goals should be pursued, in order to see successful results. Leaders are the ones who create standards of excellence and set the example for others to follow as a way of developing those people to achieve their own goals and dreams. Through leadership, we are able to accomplish small wins while working toward larger objectives. These sames leaders are the kind of people who wake up in the morning with a self motivated, positive attitude regardless of what the day has in store for them. Leaders see the big picture and are able to break it down into a path of steps without knowing what might attempt to stop them. They have faith in a system that works to create opportunities towards victory.

Inspire a Shared Vision
Leaders are passionate about what they believe and use that energy to make a difference in their community. They put together a game plan for future successes and climb the mountain to attain the highest levels of achievement. Through their leadership, a magnetism is created that persuades and enlists others in sharing those same dreams with the leader. When you have a team of people who share your vision, the possibilities are endless.

Challenge the Process
Leaders search for opportunities to change the status quo. Leaders establish innovative ways to improve organizations, communities, and even the world. In doing so, they have to go through an experimental phase to see what works and what doesn’t, which requires them to be risk takers. Leaders understand that failure is inevitable. However, those disappointments and down falls are used as learning opportunities to grow mentally tougher and push harder towards their dreams. Leaders don’t give up because they know that there are two meanings of FEAR: 1. Forget Everything And Run or 2. Face Everything And Rise. Leaders always chose #2.

Enable Others to Act
Leaders promote collaboration and build high spirited teams by actively involving others. Leaders understand that mutual respect is what sustains extraordinary efforts so they strive to create an atmosphere of integrity, self discipline, positive change, and staff development. Leaders strengthen others by making each person feel capable and powerful.

Encourage the Heart
Accomplishing extraordinary things is hard work. So in order to keep hope and determination alive, leaders recognize the contributions that individuals make. In every winning team, the members need to share in the rewards of their efforts and leaders need to help celebrate those accomplishments. Leaders make people feel like heroes, so that they remain encouraged and positive in their pursuit of success and happiness.
